Poker Face

Summer in Portland

We are leaving for New Orleans in a week and a day. I have been constantly trying on outfits and rethinking my wardrobe. I have picked up a few essential items over the past couple of weeks.

1. Slip shorts. My grandma had a pair of these and I loved them! I bought a pair in white and one in black. I foresee these being extremely useful. I don’t do hot weather well and these work well under skirts.

2. White pants. They match everything! I am actually borrowing the from the lovely Heather and depending on how things go I may need to procure my own.

3. Awesome swimsuit and cover up. Nuff said!

We shall see what happens once I get to the land of humidity.

Not much else has been happening. Much day dreaming about the yard but not really wanting to work to get it accomplished. I was sick for a bit, now I am back in the gym and trying to be active everyday. I am having varying success in that matter.

I did go to Seattle again last weekend and had a lovely time at the solstice parade and at my dear friends house. I didn’t get any good pictures of the parade so instead I will leave you with a photo of a very sad little dog. She always is very worried by packing. Sad moo.

Secret no longer!

I can finally reveal what I have been working! A baby surprise jacket, hat and bib. I think it turned out quite nice, the recipient liked it! My favorite part is the little old man buttons. I love the BSJ it is a joy to knit. I think I am going to start some more just to have on hand. I love picking out the buttons for them.

I have given up the idea of running a full marathon. I am at a place where I like running just because and I am not sure I am ready to give that up. I have upped my speed and time on the treadmill and that is going well. I am now thinking a half marathon is a little bit more reasonable for me. Not to say I won’t do a marathon within the next year or two! It is something I want to do again.

Less then a month to NOLA and Tales of The Cocktail! I am actually getting to stay in the french quarter, I can’t wait. I am already getting stuff together and trying to decide which camera’s to bring. (point and shoot, digital, slr?) If you didn’t click on the link Blair will be doing an apprenticeship so I will have some time to explore. I am so proud of him for making it into the program.
